NW Kansas officers among recent grads of police academy

YODER – Twenty-two new law enforcement officers graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center last month. Independence Police Chief Jerry Harrison was the speaker for the ceremony in KLETC’s Integrity Auditorium.

The new officers were members of the 260th basic training class at the center. Located one mile west and one mile south of Yoder, near Hutchinson, the center is a division of University of Kansas Professional & Continuing Education.

The graduates, who began their training Sept. 9, 2019, represented 20 municipal, county and state law enforcement agencies from across Kansas.

Northwest Kansas officers included:

Gove County

Ness County

  1. Ness County Sheriff's Office in Ness City - Casey Clutts, deputy

Smith County

  1. Smith County Sheriff's Office in Smith Center - Bubba Dowling, deputy
