Lowell D. Darcey, 80, passed away on January 13, 2020, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born on May 5, 1939, to James & Marguerite (Flick) Darcey. He married Sandra Freeburg on October 18, 1964, in Pawnee Rock. She survives.
A previous Belleville resident from 1970-1983, Lowell resided in Great Bend. He was a stockman and auctioneer, owning and operating the Belleville Livestock Commission Company, LSD Cattle Company and Cedar Vale Livestock Commission Company. He was a member of the Methodist faith and 4H in his younger years. Later in life, he enjoyed the company of his neighbors and close friends.
Survivors include, his wife Sandra of the home; a daughter, Jama Nicholas of Hoisington; two brothers, Lynn Darcey and wife Barbara of Newton and Ronald Darcey and wife Virginia of Wichita; and two grandsons, Brody Nicholas and Braxton Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Morita Truman presiding. Memorials are suggested to Barton County Youth Care, Inc., in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
