Terry Dean Davis

Terry Dean Davis, 51, of Phillipsburg, KS, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Wichita, KS at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital.

He was born July 25, 1968 in Oskaloosa, IA the son of Connie Guthrie and Danny Beason.

Terry moved to Kansas at the age of 17.  On September 7, 1990 he married Rebecca Braun in Phillipsburg, KS.  Together they had two children:  Brittany and Tyson.  The couple later divorced.

Terry received his GED on February 3, 1988.  He then earned his CNA Certificate and worked in Phillipsburg.  He had also worked at the local Dairy Queen before it closed.  Following that, he joined the team at Tamko in Phillipsburg, then after 18 years, he decided to make a change and went to work with Prairie Land Electric.  He continued until his Multiple Sclerosis forced him to retire.

Terry had a green thumb, he loved being outside working in his garden and tending to his flowers and rose bushes.  He enjoyed coaching his kids throughout the years and supporting them in many of their activities.  He liked going for drives with his dogs around the lake and would hunt for Morel Mushrooms in the spring time.  He was a very talented artist and enjoyed drawing and painting.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially watching his grandkids grow and would babysit for them often.  They always knew how to keep him on his toes.

Terry was preceded in death by his dad, Danny Beason; grandparents, Lillian and Lawrence “Gus” Davis, Jomaie and Frankie Grismore and Jinx Lee; great grandparents, Blanch and Earl Winters; brother, Rickey Beason; former in-laws, LeRoy and Thelma Braun; uncles, Larry Davis, Jay Davis, Shug Grismore, Larry Beason and Danny Beason; and sister, Lori Beason.

Survivors include his children, Brittany Davis and husband, Jace Smith of Phillipsburg and Tyson Davis and wife, Mollie of Bloomington, NE; his three grandchildren, Repp, Caleb and Landon; his mom, Connie Guthrie and husband, Jeff of Blockton, IA; his step-dad, Billy Grismore of Logan, KS; brothers, Willie Grismore and wife, Kelly of Phillipsburg and Daniel Beason and wife, Jodi of Oskaloosa, IA; sisters, Amanda Obrien and husband, Dennis of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Christina Tillie and husband, Blake of Eddyville, IA, Sue Ann Bohl and husband, Kenny of Phillipsburg, KS, Brenda Vogue and husband, Duane of Ottumwa, IA and Rhoda Ware and husband, Dave of Ottumwa, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

As per Terry’s wishes, cremation was planned.  The family will conduct a celebration of life service on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at the Sand Trap Bar and Grill, 1045 State Street, Phillipsburg, KS.  The family invites you to come and join them for a meal and share memories of Terry.
