Edward A. Schmeidler, age 89, of Hays, Kansas passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at Via Christi Village, Hays. He was born June 25, 1930 in Severin, Kansas to August and Anna (Miller) Schmeidler. He graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy.
Eddie was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
He is survived by a brother, Norman Schmeidler; a sister, Rita Schmeidler; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Pancratius, Jerome and Leo Schmeidler and sisters, Severina Lang, Margaret Bittel, Frances Schmeidler and Alice Honas.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow in the St. Severin Cemetery with military honors courtesy of the Hays VFW Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Monday 5 PM – 8 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7 PM. Tuesday visitation will be 9 AM - 9:30 AM all at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
