Eileen F. Regier

Eileen F. Regier was born to Glenn and Irene (Keazer) Hoover on July 11, 1925 in Marion, Kansas. Eileen was raised in Marion, KS and graduated from Marion High School in 1942 at the age of 16. After graduation Eileen worked at the Marion County Extension Office several years during World War II saving money for college. She attended the University of Kansas for one year cementing her lifelong loyalty to the Jayhawks.

Eileen married Vernon Regier, the love of her life, in Marion on December 5, 1948. They made their initial home in Marion where they welcomed their first child, Cheryl. Later they moved to Concordia, KS where Jim was born. They also spent several years in Hays before making their permanent residence Clay Center, 57 years ago. Eileen was active in NEA Women’s Study Club and belonged to several bridge clubs and other social organizations.

A mighty woman of God that led by example, Eileen was a member of the United Methodist church for 57 years. A faithful and gracious daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Eileen will be missed by her family and friends. Her husband, Vernon, preceded her in death on January 21, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bob and Larry Hoover and sister in law, FernEtta Hoover.

Son: Jim (Rowena) Regier of Topeka, KS

Grandchildren: Christi (Mike) Rice of Clay Center, Kyleigh Payne (Jonathan Moore) of Washington, DC, Elizabeth Regier of Topeka, KS, Kelsey (Blake) Fields of Cassville, MO and Matthew (Jessica) Regier of Topeka, KS.
