Galen Thomas Butler, age 65, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and formerly of Gorham, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas, after many years of pain and discomfort.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was born April 16, 1958, in Russell, Kansas to Ronald and Rose (Geist) Butler.&nbsp; He&nbsp; grew up in Gorham, and he graduated from Gorham High School in 1976.&nbsp; Many people will remember him working in Butler’s Grocery Store, in Gorham, during that time, and later at Klema’s Grocery store in Russell. Galen, moved to Arkansas in 2005.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Survivors include his son, Stephen Thompson and his wife, Glenda; his sister, Sheila Bohannon and her husband, Edward; several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Galen was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Rose; his&nbsp;brothers, DeVere Butler; and Allan Butler, who passed away 10 days after Galen’s death, and his sister Paula Butler Karst.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A private family inurnment was held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gorham, Kansas.
