Bettie Marie Schielke

Bettie Marie Schielke, 77, of Colby, died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born November 4, 1942, in Esbon, KS, to Ottis and Erma (Morris) Alldridge. Bettie married Dean Schielke on November 10, 1984, in Colby. She had worked at Careful Cleaners, Days Inn, Mr. C’s and Tom and Jerry’s. Bettie’s hobbies included yard work, tending to her flowers, bowling, crocheting, watching Jeopardy, and wood working with Dean. She enjoyed watching dirt track racing, her favorite teams, the Royals, Broncos, Chiefs (when they weren’t playing the Broncos) and K-State and her grandson, Clayton, ride bulls. Bettie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Stevens and Madilynn Stevens; five brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her husband Dean, of Colby; children, Brian (Terri) Kronvall, of Colby, Christine (Brian) Sewell, of Yuma, CO, Debbie (Anson) Panzner, of Dighton, KS, Pattie Stevens-Schielke, of Colby, Jason (Lacy) Stevens, of Colby, Gretchen (Donnie) Frevele, Pittsburg, KS and Darrell Schielke, Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Jean Oren, of Colby and Shirley Whitaker, of Thedford, NE; brothers-in-law, Elwin Schielke, of Colby and Elmar Schielke, of Colby; sister-in-law Marlys Alldredge, of Cherokee, IA; 17 grandchildren, Roy Kronvall, Mischel Bigham, Brandon Leth, Justin Leth, Brianna Wills, Blake Sowell, Clayton Appelhans, Ryan Stevens, Shay Hastings, Shawna Farber, Wade Hastings, Ryan Panzner, Myah Panzner, Brynnlee Stevens, Camie Frevele, Cassie Frevele and Amanda Schielke; 8 great-grandchildren, Urijah Hastings, Ellie Farber, Emma Farber, Mariah Kronvall, Helena Kronvall, Kylen Morgan, Jaxon Wills and Elliette Sowell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020, also at the mortuary, with burial in Beulah Cemetery.
