Augusta M. 'Gustie' Gisick

Augusta M. “Gustie” Gisick, 107, Bison, Kansas, died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.

Mrs. Gisick was born April 18, 1912, in rural Bison, Kansas, the daughter of Emil and Caroline (Sette) Seuser. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. A 1930 graduate of Bison High School, Bison, Kansas, she was a homemaker and farm wife.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a former member of the United Methodist Women, and former member of the Joy Club, all of Bison, Kansas. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, La Crosse, Kansas, a former past president of the State Garden Club, and a former 4-H leader.

On April 18, 1933, she married Ralph E. Gisick at the United Methodist rectory, Bison, Kansas. He preceded her in death April 9, 2000.

Survivors include: her granddaughter, Peggy Basgall (Mike, rural Bison, Kansas; her grandson, Kelly Jennings (Jennie, La Crosse, Kansas; six great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; one great great great granddaughter; one nephew; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her only daughter, Betty Seuser; three brothers; and two sisters.

Church visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2020, from 1:00 P.M. to 1:50 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 3, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church Church, Bison, Kansas, with Lay Servant Ron Sandstrom officiating. Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery, Bison, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the United Methodist Church, Bison, Kansas, or the American Red Cross.
