Calvin Carl Beckman, son of Carl Edward and Frances Edna (Dieterich) Beckman, was born August 19, 1934, in Norton, and passed away December 18, 2019 at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City.

Calvin grew up on the family farm in the North Star neighborhood and attended the North Star Rural Grade School and Lenora Grade School, graduating from Lenora High School in 1952. He was a member of the United Parish Church, past Noble Grand of Lenora IOOF Lodge, past president of Lenora Mercantile Association, and past board member of the Graham County Farm Bureau, and had been a member of the Kansas National Guard. He was a lifelong Lenora area and Graham County resident.

Calvin enjoyed spending time with family; farming; getting together with the North Star neighbors for a bi-weekly Saturday night of Pinochle; driving the Lenora school bus; attending farm sales and auctions; and watching the family’s crops of grain, cattle, children, and grandchildren grow.

On June 7, 1959, Calvin and Iva (Hall) were married in the Congregational Church in Lenora. They recently celebrated 60 wonderful years together.

Survivors include his wife Iva Beckman, Hill City; daughter Wanda (Mike) Vincent, Norton; son Lonnie (Jacque) Beckman, Lenora; grandchildren Heath (Laurie) Vincent, Wamego; Tabitha (Jake) Stalder, Beaver City, NE; Clayton (Allie) Beckman, Garen Beckman, and Zoie Beckman, Lenora; along with three little “buns in the oven,” due in the next few weeks.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Geneva Berry, and identical twin brother Alvin Beckman.
