Bert W. Erwin, 87, passed away Dec. 28, 2019, at Larksfield Place Health Center, Wichita. He was born on Jan. 3, 1932 at Walnut Grove, Missouri to Rubert and Ruby (Combs) Erwin. He married Sharon Southard Aug. 26, 1960 at Great Bend. She survives.

A Great Bend resident since 1959, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a CPA and partner of the accounting firm Kennedy & Coe, prior to co-founding Cross, Erwin & Goerl. He was a member of Foundry Methodist Church. He was in the United States Navy and served in Europe during the Korean War. Bert and Sharon recently moved to Wichita.

Survivors include, his wife Sharon of the home; one son, Mark Erwin of Overland Park; two daughters, Jana Erwin of Wichita and Pamela Roemer and husband Mark of Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren, Abigail King and husband Charles, Benjamin Streit and Angus Durfee; and brother-in-law, Joe Southard and wife Loretta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Steven Erwin and Greg Erwin; one brother, Samuel Randolph Erwin (Alma); one sister, Bettye Rockhold (James); and a grandson, Jonah Erwin.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at Foundry Methodist Church in Great Bend, with Pastor Aaron Withrow presiding.

Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the United States Navy. Memorials are suggested to Foundry Methodist Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
