Mario 'Marvin' Vallejo

SCOTT CITY—Mario “Marvin” Vallejo, age 61, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at his home in Scott City. He was born on Jan. 15, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Juan Vallejo and Manuela and Greg Rodriguez.  Marvin was a resident of Scott City since 1978, moving from Leoti. He worked from 1978 to 1989 for Missouri Pacific Railroad, then from 1989 to 2013 for KN Energy. In 2013 he then began his own handyman and tree trimming business until 2017.

On Oct. 5, 1979 he married Rhonda Lewis in Leoti.  She survives.

Survivors include his wife - Rhonda Vallejo of Scott City, one son, T.J. And Paige Vallejo of Scott City, two daughters, Ashlee Kliesen and Jamie Percival of Scott City, Nickole and Aydan Kinney of Lawrence, five grandchildren, Noah Kliesen, Beau Gough, Pierce Vallejo, Rafe Vallejo all of Scott City, Zyda Kinney of Lawrence, seven brothers-CJ and Eileen Vallejo of Augusta, Joe and Emily Vallejo of Wichita, Sam and Martha Vallejo of Leoti, David and Angela Vallejo of Festus, Mo., Juan Vallejo, Checko and Janelle Vallejo of Holcomb, and one sister, Hortencia and Sam Garcia of Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, two brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. 

Burial will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. 

Memorials can be made to the Mario Vallejo Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
