Most of western Kansas in drought; Ellis Co. is exception

Most of western Kansas is in drought according to the most recent conditions released Dec. 24 by the National Drought Monitor.

A small portion of extreme southeast Ellis County (3 down, 5 right from northwest corner) is considered abnormally dry (D1, as is much of northwest Kansas.

Conditions in southwest Kansas range from moderate to severe drought.
