⚾ Current and former Larks drafted in MLB 2023 First-Year Player Draft

One current and several former Hays Larks were selected in the 2023 MLB First-Year Player Draft which concluded on Tuesday.

Current Larks pitcher Colby Langford was selected in Thursday's 17th round by the Houston Astros. Langford just completed his sophomore season at Murray State (Okla.) College and had committed to the University of Oklahoma. He was 1-0 with a 4.09 ERA in five appearances (3 starts) with the Larks this summer.

Former Larks pitcher Brady Rose was selected in the 12th round on Thursday by the New York Yankees. The Westminster, Colorado native who played at Dallas Baptist pitched for the Larks in 2020 and 2022.

Jake Fitzgibbons, who played for the Larks in 2021, was taken in the 14th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Fitzgibbons played for Tennessee.

Current Larks pitcher and former TMP-Marian standout Carson Jacobs was expected to sign a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox.
