No. 16 FHSU women rally past No. 6 Saint Anselm

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The 16th-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team hit all three of their 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and went 11-for-11 from the free throw line in the final period to rally past No. 6 Saint Anselm 70-63 at the Cruzin Classic.

Taylor Rolfs, who barely played in the third and early portion of the fourth quarter due to foul trouble, hit both of her 3-pointers during a critical 11-4 run midway through the fourth which helped the Tigers (9-2) build a seven-point lead.

FHSU led by five at halftime, but fell behind following a 14-2 Saint Anselm with a little over three minutes to play in the third quarter.

The Hawks (7-2) would go up six before a 6-0 Tiger run tied the game late in the third.

After missing their first nine 3-point attempts, Madison Mittie hit from long range early in the fourth to give the Tigers the lead. A Kasey Kennett steal and layup pushed the lead to three.

The Hawks would tie the game at 51 and 53 before the decisive run pushed their lead to seven following a Kasey Kennett three-point play.

Jaden Hobbs hit all six of her free throw attempts in the fourth quarter and led the Tigers with 19 points. Kennett scored 14 while pulling down a team-best 10 rebounds. Rolfs chipped in with 11. 

Cydney Bergman had another big game off the bench, scoring eight while pulling down seven rebounds.

Peyton Steinman led the Hawks with 23 points and nine boards. Shannon Ryan was held eight points below her season average with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
