Clarence 'Lyle' Hartman

Clarence “Lyle” Hartman, 85, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at his home in Smith Center.

Lyle was born December 8, 1934 in rural Smith County, KS, the son of Clarence and Ada Belle (Potter)Hartman.  On July 21, 1995 he married Shirley A. Miller in Smith Center, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and a sister.

Lyle is survived by his wife Shirley Hartman of Smith Center; six children, Tamara (Randy) Gardner of Clinton, MO, Tod (Carol) Hartman of Portis, Marci (Pat) Rust of Phillipsburg, Michelle (Mike) LeiVan of Osborne, Melanie (Gale) Ewing of Phillipsburg, Kent Levin of Smith Center; one brother, Bernard (Vi) Hartman of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at American Lutheran Church, 415 W. New York St., Smith Center, with Pastor Lorna Paulus officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019 with family present to greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, KS.  Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center.  Memorials may be given to Hospice Services or American Lutheran Church and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
