Charlene V. (Gamble) Roll

Charlene V. (Gamble) Roll passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Redbud Village Nursing Care in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 90. She was born on January 26, 1929, in Hunnewell, Kansas to the late Charles E. and Ollie (Bridges) Gamble. Charlene graduated from South Haven High School in South Haven, Kansas and on October 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Dale Roll in Winfield, Kansas. She and Dale owned and operated Roll Tank Service for 38 years. They were blessed with a daughter, Dalene.

Charlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. When she wasn’t busy working, she enjoyed quilting, crafting, and hanging out with the morning coffee group. But the most important people in her life were her family.

Charlene is survived by her granddaughter, Michele Cozart and husband Craig of Olathe; niece, Treva Younie; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Regyn Cozart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ollie Gamble; husband, Dale Roll; sisters, Cora Hobaugh and Helen Tinsman; brothers, Garland and Archie Gamble; and daughter, Dalene Erwin.

Charlene was a woman of strong faith, abiding hope, and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed. Until we see her again in her eternal home, she will live forever in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Baptist Church in Plainville starting at 10 A.M. Inurnment will follow at the Plainville City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hays Medical Center Hospice or Rooks County Hospital and sent in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home.
