Ann Tien, daughter of Aaron and Christine (Duling) Prinsen was born on January 29, 1940 in Norton, Kansas.  She passed away on December 11, 2019 at the Logan Manor in Logan, KS at the age of 79 years.

Ann was baptized and confirmed at the Prairie View Reformed Church.  She graduated from the Prairie View High School with the class of 58’.  She then attended Fort Hays State and earned her elementary education degree.  She taught in Almena and Prairie View schools.

She was united in marriage to Henry J. Tien on December 27, 1960 in Prairie View, Kansas.  This union was blessed with four sons; Scott, Curtis, Steven and Kent.  She was a dedicated mother first and foremost; she decided to stay at home and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as Grandma.

Other than being involved with her children and grandchildren’s activities, she spent her time tending to her flowers, gardening and could not miss a KU Jayhawk Basketball game.  She also served at the Prairie View Community Center since its inception, volunteered at the Prairie View Library and was an active member of the Luctor Christian Reformed Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on December 17, 2007, her parents and a daughter-in-law, Patty.

Survivors include four sons, Scott, Steven and Kent and wife, Ashlee of Prairie View and Curtis and wife, Heidi of Dry Ridge, KY; 9 grandchildren, Trevor, Brady, Amber, Caden, C.J., Aaron, Sierra and Haylee Tien and Cydnee Rider; and 1 great grandson, Rhett Tien.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Luctor Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Shawn Richardson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Luctor Cemetery, Phillips County, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church or Prairie View Community Center.

Mrs. Tien will lie in state from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and from Noon until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
