Purple and Gold girls semifinals: Oakley vs. Stockton

Two teams punched their ticket to Saturday's championship game in the 2019 Purple and Gold Tournament last night. 

The evening started with a semifinals girls match-up between the Stockton Tiger and the Oakley Lady Plainsmen. 

Oakley started quick and led 12-7 after the 1st quarter. By halftime Oakley had further extended the lead to 25-16.

The Lady Plainsmen started quick coming out of the half as well and led 37-18 midway through the third. Stockton went on an 11-3 run to close the quarter and make it 40-29 heading into the 4th.

Stockton continued their comeback attempt and only trailed by 5 with about 3 minutes left in the game. However, the comeback attempt fell just short and Oakley held on for a 50-43 win. 

Senior Jordan Lowrie had 11 points and 6 rebounds for the Lady Plainsmen. Liberty Booker and Jamie Kuhlman each had 10 points. The Tigers were led by sophomore Olivia Dix, who led all scorers with 15 points, she also had 7 rebounds.

Oakley will play at 6 o'clock in Saturday's championship game against the winner of Trego and Victoria. Stockton will play at 3 o'clock on Saturday in the 3rd place game against the loser of Trego and Victoria
