LEOTI—Wendy Marie Wilbur, 48, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti.

Wendy was born April 22, 1971 in Tribune, Kansas, the daughter of Gary Gwyn and Marilyn Joyce ( McBride ) Wilbur. A lifetime resident of western Kansas, she was a farmer, rancher, teacher and a partner in Wilstine Farm Supply.

Wendy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leoti. She was a graduate of Wichita State University, playing on the women’s Shockers basketball team and track squad from 1991-1992. She held memberships in the American Angus Association and WSU Alumni Association.

Her mother, Marilyn Wilbur, Grandfathers, Jim McBride and Bob Wilbur, two uncles precede her in death.

Wendy’s surviving family includes parents Gary and Beth Wilbur of Leoti; sisters Aimee and Kelley Burch of Leoti, Jennifer and Matthew Ramsey of Lawrence, Jill and Matthew Riley of Syracuse, Kan.; grandmothers Joyce McBride of Leoti and Marilyn Wilbur of Garden City; companion Diran Barr of  Berthoud, Colo.; step-brothers Ryan and Mindy Andrasek of Richmond, Texas; Rick and Amber Andrasek of Spring Hill, Tenn.; 12 nieces; four nephews; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti with Rev. Gary Salmans officiating.

Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti.

Memorials may be made to the Wendy Wilbur Memorial Fund to benefit the Wichita County Health Center and Wichita County School Sports programs.
