The Fort Hays State women's basketball team will return to action later this week ranked 19th in the WBCA Division II Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday. It is the first time the Tigers have been ranked 19th in the coaches poll in program history.
The Tigers remain the highest-ranked MIAA team in the poll, with Emporia State joining the ranks at No. 23.
Fort Hays State will play its first game as the 19th-ranked team in the country on Wednesday when the Tigers host Bethany College at 6 p.m. The Tigers have now been ranked in 20 of the 25 positions in the WBCA Coaches Poll since joining the NCAA. FHSU has never been ranked 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th or 22nd.
