MANHATTAN - Ellis County Farm Bureau members joined more than 800 other members during the Kansas Farm Bureau's 2019 annual meeting in Manhattan Dec. 1 to 3.
Attending from Ellis County were Stephanie Eckroat, Nathan Staab, Audrey Werth, Rosetta Deutscher, Laura Haffner and Ryan Haffner.
The members wrapped up important business for their farm organization after debating and adopting policy statements for 2020. These policies will now become the road map for the organization during the upcoming legislative session.
The organization also presented Excellence Awards to many Kansas counties.
Ellis County was awarded in all three categories: Service, Advocacy and Education.
Ellis County also received the Horizon Award in Service. This award was a result of the partnership between the Ellis County Farm Bureau Association and the Ellis County Emergency Medical Services. The project provided farm rescue training to Ellis County emergency personnel.
Ellis County is also proud to have members Laura and Ryan Haffner elected to lead the Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee for 2020.
