Nila Jean Elsasser, age 84, passed away Dec. 6, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born May 11, 1935, in Otis, to Jacob and Ella M. (Moore) Diel, Jr. Nila married Lavern E. Elsasser Apr. 18, 1954, in Otis. He died May 30, 2015.
Nila, a Wichita resident since 1966, had previously been employed with Bank of America and Brinks armored services. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include one son, Leon Elsasser and wife Wendy of Wichita; one daughter, Lois Dailey and husband Wayne of Joplin, Mo.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern; one son, Leroy Elsasser; and one brother, Robert "Pete" Diel.
Interment and graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, With Pastor Don Fisher officiating at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend.
