TOPEKA - The U.S. Drought Monitor reports more expansion in abnormally dry and moderate drought in southwest and south central Kansas this week.
The Kansas expansion of abnormally dry and moderate drought was in response to continued developing dryness and impacts to winter wheat.
Ellis County is (five counties to right and three down from northwest corner of map) is not yet in the abnormally dry area (D0).
