The TMP-Marian Monarchs girls and boys basketball teams earned a sweep of Life Prep Academy in the consolation semifinals on the Hays City Shootout Friday.
Girls: TMP 55, Life Prep 12
The TMP girls open the game with a 9-3 run and then added a 19-0 run at the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter as they cruised to a 55-12 win.

Emilee Lane and Kyleigh Allen combined to score the first nine points of the game for TMP to put the Monarchs up 9-3 and TMP led 16-4 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter Leah Mages and Sasha Wasinger hit back-to-back threes to put TMP up 24-4 and they led 30-7 at the break.
TMP outscored Life Prep 22-3 in the second quarter as they build a 52-10 lead.
With the running clock in the fourth quarter the Monarchs picked up their first win of the season 55-12.
Wasinger had her second straight double-figure scoring game with 13 points and Allen recorded a new career-high 14.

TMP improved to 1-1 with the win and will take on Millwood, Ok. In the fourth-place game Saturday afternoon at Hays Middle School.
Boys: TMP 80, Life Prep 65
The TMP and Life Prep boys traded huge scoring runs in the first half before TMP outscored the Fire 20-5 to start the third quarter on their way to the 80-65 win.

The Fire opened the game on an 8-5 run and then outscored TMP 10-2 to end the first half and led 18-11 after one.
TMP answered with an 11-0 run to start the second quarter when Jackson Schulte hit three of his game-high eight three pointers to give TMP the 22-18 lead.
With just under four minutes to play in the second quarter Hayden Brown put TMP up three, at 28-25 but Life Prep answered right back with a 10-0 run to take a 35-28 lead.
But not to be outdone the Monarchs answered with a 10-4 run of their own to end the first half and cut the halftime deficit to just 40-38.
The third quarter was the big turning point in the game. Carson Jacobs and Jackson Schulte combined to scored 15 of the Monarchs 20 points in that 20-5 run to start the second half taking a 60-45 lead.
In the fourth quarter Life Prep was able to trim the deficit to 13 once but could get no closer as TMP earns the 80-65 win, their first of the season.
For the second game in-a-row but Schulte and Jacobs set new career-highs. Schulte led all scorers with 34 and Jacobs added 20.
TMP will take on Millwood, Ok. in the fourth-place game Saturday afternoon at Hays Middle School.
