Leonardo B. Mabugat, 81, passed away November 30, 2019 at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
He was born November 6, 1938 in Manila, Philippines, the son of Querubin and Purificacion Mabugat. He moved from Connecticut to Larned in 1996, where he was a Physician at the Larned State Hospital and a medical director at Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, KS.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned, American Medical Association and Kansas Medical Association. He enjoyed singing, dancing, daily exercise, reading journal magazines, watching boxing and hosting house parties. He loved his family and talking to his grandchildren.
On September 28, 1968, he married Sonia Cueves in Philippines. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Sonia M. Eaton, Connecticut, Elenita M. (Ricardo) Rios, New Jersey; brother, Querubin Mabugat Jr., California; sister, Zenaida Magboo, Philippines; three grandchildren, Donovan M. Eaton, Jonathan M. Eaton and Isa M. Rios.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Vilma Quiambao.
Vigil and Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the mortuary. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
