Azilee Alberta (Lee) Williams

Azilee Alberta (Lee) Williams, age 91, of WaKeeney passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Custer City, Oklahoma to Samuel and Elsie (Cutler) Moler.

Azilee was united in marriage to Vern LeRoy (Bud) Williams, January 16, 1949 until 1977. 


Azilee loved her two daughters more than life itself. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved to read books and crochet names for anyone in the community, including local businesses.


Azilee’s life passion was taking care of everyone around her. Early in her life she washed and ironed clothes for people then became a certified nurse’s aide and later in life a senior companion to many.


She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Black of Bakersfield, California; seven grandchildren, James (Rachel) Black of Calhan, Colorado, Michael (Staci) Black of Redmond, Oregon, Robert (Lisa) Clanton of Oxford, Nebraska, Angela Hafliger of Ingalls, Kansas, Melissa Black of Bakersfield, California, Cynthia (Kirk) Knouf of Quinter, Kansas, Jamie Poage of Hays, Kansas; eighteen great-grandchildren, Nick (Carolyn) Wilkes, Megan Black, Eric (Elizabeth) Black, Abigail Hafliger, Kayla (Nathan) Moore, Cassey Black, Caleb Knouf, James Elliot, Alyssa Hafliger, Austin Clanton, Kaylee Knouf, Emily Clanton, Christapher  Poage, Matthew Clanton, Dakota, Tommie and Phillip Poage; and five great-great-grandchildren, Emerie Moore, Reylund Black, Antony Wilkes, Aiden Elliot and Dean Moore. 


Azilee was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother Louis Moler, his wife Rollene, and their son Robert Moler; her daughter Verna (Williams) Clanton; and two sons-in-law, Bobby Clanton and Jimmy Black.


Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.


Services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, with Reverend Debra Harvey officiating. Burial will be held at Mount Allen Cemetery in Hays, KS.
