The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a high wind warning for Saturday across much of western Kansas, including Ellis County and surrounding counties.
Forecasters are calling for winds averaging 30 to 40 mph, with gusts reaching up to 65 mph.
The warning is in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p..m. Saturday.
The NWS warns the winds could topple trees, down power lines and cause minor structural damage. Travel will be made more hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles, and visibility could be reduced due to blowing dust.
