The National Weather Service's winter weather advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. this evening for Hays and much of northwest Kansas.
Snow accumulation if 1 to 2 inches is expected, accompanied nby winds gusting up to 55 mph.
The best chance for snow will be in the late afternoon or early evening hours, forecasters are predicting.
Road conditions will be hazardous, with slippery roads and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
