Jarrold 'Tex' Shaw

Tex passed away on November 19th, 2019, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen Texas at the age of 86.


He was born April 3rd, 1933, on a farm 4 miles west of Glade, KS to Ernest and Anna Shaw.


His Family moved to the Selden area in 1935 and he spent the majority of his life and raised his family in the area.


He married Charlene Marie Gibson on July 30, 1955, in Clayton, NewMexico. They farmed and ranched in the area until their retirement in 1988. They continued to live in the Selden area part time in retirement and enjoyed many adventures and activities during their 64 years of marriage. Typically spending the winter in South Texas and the summer in Wyoming.


Tex was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his Honda Trike, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He had a very diverse group of friends and was always up for an adventure.


He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Anna, a twin brother Rex and a younger sister Jerrie Joyce.


He is survived by his wife Charlene of the home; 4 children: Randy and Adeana Shaw of Springfield, CO; Danny and Miriam Shaw of Selden, KS; Doug and Jill Shaw of Ellis, KS and Lisa and Lance Stoll of Selden, KS. A sister Doris Jean Oliver of Rexford, KS. 13 Grandkids and 19 Great Grandkids .


It was his wish not to have a typical funeral; instead the family will be having a private graveside service and celebration of life party in the spring of 2020. Details to follow.
