RUSSELL COUNTY — Three people were hospitalized after an accident at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Buick Park Avenue driven by Marlyn F. Kaufman, 83, Russell, was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of the Bunker Hill exit. She lost control of the vehicle, the KHP said, crossed through the center media and struck an eastbound 2019 Toyota van head-on.
Kaufman and two occupants of the van — Antonio L. Fahardo, 44, Bedford, Texas, and Edith Jurdo-Ochoa, 42, La Vergne, Texas — were transported to Russell Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, the KHP said.
