Rain is on the way — with the possibility of thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Dodge City on Wednesday is predicting scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms late this afternoon and into the evening.
Severe weather is not expected, but strong winds are expected with gusts up to 35 mph.
The temperature is expected to take a steep dive overnight, with a low of 33 predicted for Hays. The high Thursday is only expected to reach 42 degrees with a low of 25 overnight and the chance of rain or snow.
While the weekend is expected to be quiet, forecasters are projecting the possibility of a strong winter storm around Tuesday.
