Open Enrollment is only time of year that individuals who are Medicare eligible can make changes to their prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans.
“It is extremely important to have someone review your Medicare plans, aside from the potential to saved hundreds of dollars. We provide clarity as to how the plans work and if changes are necessary for the upcoming year,” said Cortney Dale, president and CEO at Sunflower Senior Solutions.
There will be a free event at Fort Hays State University's Memorial Union (Calvary Room) on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Thursday, Dec. 5, to discuss 2020 options.

Medicare itself only covers a portion of health care costs so there are “gaps in coverage” that consumers are left to fill. The event will cover education on the supplemental plans for those considering them for the first time or who simply want to compare what they have to other plans.
“A question that comes up frequently is how to fill the gaps when it comes to dental, vision and hearing coverage — these three areas are not covered by Medicare,” Dale said. “We have information on all of those plans as well and we want to help as many folks as we can get the coverage they need and, more importantly, we want them to understand how the plans work with each other.”
Founded in 2015 in Hays, Sunflower Senior Solutions is an independent insurance brokerage.
