
TREGO COUNTY—Four people were injured in an accident just after 4:30p.m. Monday in Trego County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Toyota Rav4 driven by Mireya Lule, 46, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was eastbound on Interstate 70 approximately three miles west of Ellis.
Due to strong winds and blowing dust, the driver was unable to see. The Toyota rear-ended a camper pulled by a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and driven by Anna L. Briggs, 19, Quinter. After impact a 2013 GMC pickup driven by Alyssa Brewster, 37, Phenix City, Alabama, rear-ended the Toyota.
EMS transported Lule and passengers in the Toyota Marisa Maria, 44, and Irma Miramontes Palomino, 64, both of Oklahoma City to Hays Medical Center. EMS transported Briggs to the Trego County Hospital. Brewster and three passengers in the pickup were not injured. Palomino was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
