Helen Ruth Hoff

Helen Ruth Hoff died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 92 years old.

Ruth was born January 9, 1929, in Park, Kansas. She was the daughter of John and Dorothy (Dreher) Krannawitter. Ruth graduated from Hoxie High School in 1947 and worked as a telephone operator in Colby, KS. On November 18, 1950, she married Robert Hoff and went on to celebrate 54 years of marriage before his death in 2004.

Ruth then moved to Baldwin City, KS and enjoyed her life there as a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and as a regular at Baldwin Rec Center. She loved playing cards with her friends, was a loyal fan of Tiger Woods, and enjoyed all sports. She loved attending any event that her grandchildren were involved in, always as their biggest fan. She loved her lady friends, her flowers, shopping, and was always ready to try a new restaurant. In short, she dearly loved life.

Ruth is survived by seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Children and family include: Sally Brackney and husband Clark of Atlantic City, New Jersey, their daughter Megan and husband Jon and their daughter Bea of Brooklyn, New York, son Carson Brackney and wife Sherri, children Eva and Amelia of Shawnee, KS; Kathleen Hoff and husband Doug Harvey of Kansas City, Missouri, their daughter Amanda Lengal and her husband Frank and children Isabella and Vaughn of Powell, Ohio, son Eric Napolitano of Overland Park, KS, his son Marco of Lawrence, KS; Robbie Lamoreux and husband Gary of Baldwin City, KS, their daughter Katrina Watson of Lawrence, KS, son Brian of San Diego, California; Beverly Shown of Topeka, KS, her son Austin of Topeka, KS, daughter Audrey and her partner Jose Rodriquez of Overland Park, KS; Cynthia Taylor-Bigge and husband Stephen Bigge and daughter Rosalyn of Topeka, KS, her son Stuart of Lawrence, KS; Patrick Hoff and his wife Brenda of Leawood, KS, daughter Danielle of Baldwin City, KS; Roger Hoff and wife Shawn, their daughters Paige and Sophie of Scranton, KS, and son Brandon Pierce of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Andrew, three brothers: Al, Eddie, and Willie, seven sisters: Rose, Elizabeth, Caroline, Eleanor, Polly, Alice, and Mary Ann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be February 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City, KS. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Baldwin City. Visitation will be February 18, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 712 9th Street, Baldwin City.
