NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State men's track and field team drops one spot to 14th in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II rating index, released Tuesday by the coaches association.

The men's team has already broken four school records this season along with 24 provisional marks. The Tigers have five student-athletes that rank in the top 10 nationally, including high jumper Dayton Williams (6-11.5 feet), pole vaulter Jacob Clark (16-8.75 feet) and multi-event runner Nolan Churchman (5326 points in heptathlon). Ethan Lang, Week 4 MIAA Track Athlete of the Week, holds the fifth spot in the 800 meters for running a converted time of 1:49.40. Long jumper Keomonie Archie holds the second-best long jump in school history with a distance at 23-11.75 feet. Archie has only competed in two events as a freshman and looks to continue to improve FHSU's field team.

This past weekend, Hayden Albright broke the school record in the 400 meters for finishing in 47.47, this mark is good enough for the tenth best time in DII. Albright also holds a top 30 mark in the 200m (21.42 seconds). The Distance Medley team consisting of Trevor Medina, Hayden Albright, Ethan Lang and Grant Bradley broke the school record two weekends ago with a mark of 9:43.55. This mark currently ranks seventh nationally and good enough for a trip to nationals.

The Tiger men currently rank sixth in the central region as the team had a successful weekend including four first place winners and a season high five provisional marks at the Steve Miller Invitational.

The Tiger men conclude their strong indoor season at the MIAA Championships which are set to begin Friday and conclude Sunday. This event will be held in Topeka, Kan., the fifth time the Tigers will travel there this season.
