Jonathan J. “Jon Boy” Younger, 36, Hays, died Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born March 5, 1990 in Hays, the son of Benard “Benny” and Rhonda (Reed) Younger. He was an over the road truck driver for Tim Kroeger trucking. He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of Free Tomorrow Motorcycle Club. Other passions included driving truck, going to the lake, and boating. Jon Boy possessed a big heart, enjoyed helping others, was described as “one of a kind”, and his friends described him as having every quality you could want in someone.
Survivors include his brother Jeremmy Hoard (Jennifer) of Hutchinson, his sister Jennifer Hoard (Clinton Klein) of Hays, three nephews, Seth Redfield, Sheldon Webster, and Cade Hoard, one niece Zoey Hoard, and a great niece Cora Redfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Fr. Curtis Carlson, OFM Cap. officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Antonino. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 on Wednesday and from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses and checks may be made payable to Jennifer Hoard.
