🏀 Tiger men up to No. 16 in latest Division II poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State moved up three spots in the latest NABC Top 25 Poll, released on Tuesday. The Tigers are No. 16 in the latest set of rankings. This is the sixth-straight week the Tigers have been in the NABC Top 25.

Fort Hays State reached 22 wins in the regular season for the second time in the last three years as it enters tournament play at 22-6 overall. It is the seventh time the Tigers have reached 22 wins in a season under head coach Mark Johnson after already reaching at least 20 for the 12th time in his tenure as head coach. The win in the regular season finale pushed Johnson to 450 career wins at FHSU as his total as the all-time wins leader at FHSU continues to climb.

This is the 114th time the Tigers have been ranked in the NABC Top 25 during their NCAA Division II history. They are 188-48 all-time when holding an NABC ranking.

Fort Hays State and Northwest Missouri State (No. 4) represents the MIAA in both top 25 polls. The Bearcats moved up four spots in both the NABC and D2CSC polls this week.

The Central Region and South Central Region have the most teams in the NABC Top 25, each with five. Seven of the top ten teams in the country are among the two regions. Central Region teams ranked include Minnesota State (No. 2), Northwest Missouri State (No. 4), Minnesota Duluth (No. 9), MSU Moorhead (No. 11), and Fort Hays State (No. 16).Fort Hays State plays in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament on Thursday night (March 7) against either Emporia State or Lincoln.
