Kenneth Schneider

Kenneth Schneider, age 85, of WaKeeney, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, WaKeeney.  He was born February 9, 1935, in Hays, Kansas, to Harm and Elsie (Eichman) Schneider.  

A proud veteran, Kenneth served our country in the U.S. Army.  Dorothy “Dot” Smith became Kenneths’ wife on September 18, 1957, in Mexico.  They enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Dot’s death on February 3, 2012.  Kenneth spent his life on the family farm until 1982, when he and Dot moved to town because of health reasons.  They spent years there enjoying life.

Those left to mourn his passing include his son, Michael W. and wife Sirena of WaKeeney; five grandchildren, Michael H. (Jenny), Marc (Joey), Genna, Nicole, and Sheena; and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Ginger; son, Kent; brothers, Leon and Leonard; and two sisters, Ladonna and Clarice.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.  Inurnment and committal will be in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney.  There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen.
