⛳ HHS girls' continue streak, qualify for state

HUTCHINSON - The streak continues for the Hays High girls' golf team. The Indians have qualified for the state tournament for a 19th straight year after winning the Hutchinson 5A regional yesterday at the Carey Park Golf Course.

Hays shot a 365, 25 strokes less than the host Salt Hawks. Salina South finished third with a 405.

Jaycee Oakley shot a 5-over par 76 and led the Indians with a second  place. Liz Dreiling placed fifth with an 89 and Ava Erbert was eighth with a 97.

Newton's Naomi Koontz won the individual title with a 1-under par 70.

The 5A state tournament will be held at the Salina Municipal Golf Course on Monday, October 21st and Tuesday, October 22nd.
