NW Kan. teen hospitalized after car strikes KDOT sign, power pole

THOMAS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 8a.m. Wednesday in Thomas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Nissan Sentra driven by Briella R. Knowles, 15, Rexford, was northbound on U.S. 83. The driver was attempting to make a left turn onto County Road 35 when she swerved to miss a deer.  The car struck a KDOT sign and power pole.

EMS transported Knowles to Citizens Medical Center. She was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
