Virginia “Jeanne” (Heath) Jasper, 82, died Sunday March 20, 2022, at Meade District Hospital in Meade, Kansas. She was born May 9, 1939, at the family home in Alamota, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Maude (McGeevy) Heath.

She attended the Dighton School system and graduated in 1957. She attended Washburn University. On June 13, 1959, she married Larry V. Jasper in Dighton. She was a life long member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church where she was involved in the Altar Society and D of I. She was a member of the TOPS club and the Red Hat Society. Virginia loved to travel whether it was to watch her grandchildren or great nieces and nephews in all of their activities or to see new sites. She was an extremely talented seamstress who enjoyed making many wedding dresses, Halloween costumes and altering many formals. Virginia enjoyed making dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls and bierocks. Her favorite activity was hosting family get togethers.

Survivors include her Children- Brenda Jasper of Wichita, Kansas, David (Lisa) Jasper of Everest, Kansas, Mary Cay Avis of Meade, Kansas, and Frank Jasper of Dighton, Kansas, Grandchildren- Austin Jasper, Skyler (Rashelle Wade) Avis, Ross Jasper, Jessica Burke, Annie (Deanna Adams) Burke, and Evan (Hayden) Burke, Great-Grandchildren- Sophia Wade, Bryson Wade, and Evelyn Burke, Brother- John Heath, and Sister-in-Law- Charlene Heath.

She was preceded in death by her Husband- Larry Jasper, Daughter- Barbara Jasper, Parents- Ralph and Maude Heath, Brothers: Raymond, Francis, Clarence and Tommy Heath and Sister- Mary Venters.

Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday March 24, 2022, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Friday March 25, 2022, both at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton, Kansas with Rev Don Bedore as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will take place Thursday March 24, 2022, from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 pm at Boomhower Funeral Home.
