Carolyn Marie Devine

Carolyn Marie Devine, 70, passed away December 30, 2021, at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born on August 18, 1951, at Great Bend, to Robert & Mary (Lacy) VonFeldt. She married George Devine on March 16, 1974 at Great Bend. 

A lifetime Barton County resident, Carolyn was the owner and head cook at Mom’s Bar & Grill in Seward. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend and St. Francis Xavier Church in Seward. She loved to take care of her family and friends, whether it be cooking for them, helping or just loving them. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Ella and Ted.

Survivors include, her husband George Devine, and sons, Christopher Devine and Thomas “Lee” Devine and wife Hether, all of Great Bend; a brother, Neil VonFeldt of Great Bend; two sisters, Gail VonFeldt of Emporia and Brenda VonFeldt of Tex.; two grandchildren, Ella Marie Devine and Thomas Edwin “Ted” Devine; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael VonFeldt; and two sisters, Mary Ann Weighous and Nancy Zrubek.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Seward. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

Memorials have been designated to Rosewood Roots & Wings Foundation or The Storm Special Olympics team, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
