Howard Michael “Mike” Boys, 72, passed away June 4, 2020, at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. He was born on April 15, 1948,at Shelbyville, Ill to Richard and Nixie (Smith) Boys. He married Jolene Sellens on March 8, 1969, at Hoisington. She survives.
A current Great Bend resident, Mike was an insurance agent for 25 years. He was a graduate of Hoisington High School and attended Pittsburgh State University.
Survivors include, his wife, Jolene Boys of the home; two sons, Gregory Boys of Great Bend, and Christopher Boys and wife Dalila of Dodge City; two sisters, Sandra Daughtery and husband Larry of Russell, and Terry Perry and husband Rick of Benton; and three grandchildren, Caleb, Conner, and Camila. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Heartland Community Church with Pastor Arlyn Thielenhaus and Pastor Tom Swain presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Mike Boys Memorial Golf Tournament, to benefit all of Mike’s favorite charities, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
