
Jason T. Carman, age 49, of Sharon Springs, KS passed
away Sept. 28, 2021, surrounded by his family after a brave three-year
battle with cancer.
Jason was born on Jan. 28, 1972, in Jefferson City, MO, the son of Gary
and Sandra (Crigler) Carman. Growing up in Onaga, KS graduating from
Onaga High School in 1991. He continued his education at Pratt Community
College graduating from the Electrical Power Technology program. He was
employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a Signal Maintainer for over 28
years and was a union member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman.
On July 29, 2000, he married Cassie (Herbers) Carman in Manhattan, KS at
St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. To this union three daughters were
born, Jessie, Mary and Kit. He was baptized and confirmed into the
Catholic Church in Goodland, KS.
Jason enjoyed all things outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and golfing
were among his favorites. He shared these passions with his daughters
and many friends.
Jason is survived by his wife Cassie; daughters Jessie Ann, Mary Sophia
and Kit C.J; his parents, Gary and Sandra Carman; brothers, Bradley
Carman (Dana), Silver Lake KS and Robert Carman (Abbie Stierly), Basehor
KS; mother and father in-law, Don and Mona Herbers, Leoti KS; brother
in-law Jess Herbers (Leah), Lynchburg VA; sister in-law Cori Wegner
married to Jason’s life-long friend Robert Wegner and brother in law Jay
Herbers, (Karie) Ellensburg WA. He loved spending time with his many
nephews; Jacob Wegner, Calvin Carman, Reid Herbers and Hixon Herbers and
nieces, Madison Wegner (her fiancé Connor Schumacher), Chaney Carman,
Aubrey Herbers, Curtis Ann Herbers, Grace, Addison and Lila Jennings.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place
at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jason Carman
Memorial for future designation by his family and sent in care of
