COMMUNITY EVENTS – MAY 2021

Area graduations and commencement ceremonies this month include:

Ellis High School May 8
Fort Hays State University May 14 & 15
NCK Tech May 15
Victoria High School May 16
TMP-Marian High School May 22
Hays High School May 23

RPM Speedway IMCA Races this month are on May 8 and May 29. Admission is $10 adults, free for kids 12 and younger, senior citizens $5. Every race night is free admission for first responders and current and/or retired military.

Join the Hays Public Library and participate in the Humanities Kansas Crossroads: Change in Rural America initiative. Events include:

· Julie Roller-Weeks presents "A Boomerang's Approach to Reimagining Rural Tourism," May 20 at 6 p.m.

Events at Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex include:

· NBC Points Baseball Tournament May 29 and 30

KSHSSA hosts Boys Regional Golf Tournament at Smoky Hill Country Club on May 17.

Join the Downtown Hays Market for the first market of the 2021 season on May 29 from 7:30– 11 a.m. Help welcome growers, craftsmen, bakers, honey producers, artists, and musicians to Downtown. Enjoy items such as fresh produce, cut flowers, live plants, baked goods, honey, jams, and handcrafted items including jewelry, soaps, and more.

Hays Aquatic Park Opening Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 29. Season pool pass prices are $35 per person (from May 3-28) and $40 after May 28. Passes may be purchased at the HRC, online, or at the aquatic park during pool hours which are: Noon – 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 1– 6 p.m. on Sundays
