The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a winter weather advisory for much of western Kansas.
The advisory will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
A mix of rain or snow is possible today and this evening, with less than a half-inch of accumulation expected.
Sleet is expected to begin before 7 a.m. Tuesday, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Winds are expected to be blustery, with gusts in the mid-30s.
Farther northwest, the NWS is Goodland is predicting up to 2 to 3 inches of snowfall with some ice accumulation as the front moves across its coverage area Monday and Tuesday.
By Wednesday, skies are expected to clear, although the mercury is expected to dip into the mid-teens overnight Wednesday.
