Eugene Joseph 'Gene' Urban

Eugene Joseph “Gene” Urban, 80, retired salesman for Star Lumber & Supply, Cherry Orchard Furniture, Kansas Lighting, and Dillons, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Rosary, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021, both at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Eugene was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a jack of all trades and had many hobbies that he pursued after his time in the service. He loved working on cars, loved watching NASCAR, and was a member of the Mulvane Marauders Car Club. He loved working as a carpenter, and was an avid woodworker, building grandfather clocks along with other types of clocks. He did a lot of coaching within the family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them as well. Eugene was a member of Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society at Christ the King Parish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eleanor Urban; brother, Ronald Urban, and brother-in-law, Leroy Klaus.

Survivors include his wife, Judith; daughters, Jennifer Urban and Jessica (Brett) Johnson; sons, Michael, Brian and Eric (Candice) Urban; sister, Rita (Gene) Gabel; twin sister, Janet Klaus; brother, Adam Urban; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger (Evan) Walter.
