Donna Mae Frandsen, age 92, of Oberlin, KS, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Donna was born on the family farm southeast of Atwood, KS to Ralph and Eleanor (Kundysek) Urban. She attended rural school near her home. Being the oldest, Donna helped her mother with the younger children.
From a previous marriage, Donna had two children: Larry and Adelaide. She later married Allen Frandsen on July 21, 1959. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1995. Allen adopted Larry and Adelaide. Larry appreciated having Allen as his father and thought the world of him. Donna enjoyed gardening and quilting. She made quilts for her family and grandchildren. She always raised a large garden and beautiful flowers.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; four brothers: Bennie, Delvin, Frank, and John Urban; two sisters, Roberta Urban and Sylvia Wachendorfer; and a granddaughter, Michelle Grier.
Donna is survived by her son, Larry and wife, Karen Frandsen of Gillette, WY; daughter, Adelaide and husband, John Unger of Stratton, NE; grandson, Jeremiah and wife, Keisha Unger; six grandchildren; sister, Mary and husband Harry Depe of Culbertson, NE; sisters-in-law, Jacquline Urban of Atwood, KS, Willa Urban of Oberlin, KS, and Agnes Urban of Colby, KS; along with many nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday morning prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge. Friends may leave online condolences at lockenour.com.
