McPHERSON - TMP-Marian’s Heuer Brungardt closed with a 7-over-par 77 at 2A State Golf Tournament at Turkey Creek in McPherson Wednesday. He finished with a 2-day total of 156 and placed ninth. Chase Drennon closed with an 80 and tied for 18th.
Hoxie’s Noah Dowell wins the 2A title by 2 shots over Easton Fink of Oakley. After firing a 4-under 68 in his first round Tuesday, Dowell shot a 2-over 72 in the final round. Fink was the only golfer to shoot par Wednesday and had rounds of 72 and 70.
Sacred Heart won their 10-th straight team title. They had a team total of 300 in the final round and made up a 10-stroke gap with Syracuse on day one and won the title by 17 strokes. Hoxie finished third and Hill City was sixth.
AJ Deges and Case Haynes led the Ringnecks with 26th place finishes. Deges shot an 85 and Haynes an 83 in Wednesday’s final round.
