Paxton Lewis Moreland, 28, of Russell passed away Sunday, May 23 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Paxton was born July 10, 1992 in Hays. He was the son of Dennis Moreland Jr. and Kelli Geary.

He grew up and attended schools in Russell and Benson, Minn. He graduated from Benson High School in 2010.

Paxton was united in marriage to Jennifer Ginther on Aug. 13, 2016 in Russell, where they made their home.

Paxton was a hard worker, dedicated to those around him. His trades were welding and as an oil field worker. Most recently, he worked on pulling units with Patriot Well Service

In 2017 he worked for El Dorado, Inc. in Salina as a welder. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding dirt bikes.

Paxton was a loving husband and father. He would often decorate the house and outdoors for Jennifer and goof around with the kids; anything to put a smile on their faces. Paxton was happiest when spending time with family and friends.

Paxton is survived by his wife Jennifer of the home; five children, Jace Hilbrink, Ryler Ginther, Sofia Ginther, Paxton Moreland Jr., and Madilyn Moreland, all of the home; father, Dennis Moreland Jr. (Sarah Falk) of Denver; mother, Kelli Geary of Russell; brother, Tayton Moreland of Russell; sister, Courtney Moreland of Sylvan Grove; grandparents, Dennis Sr. and Sondra Moreland of Russell; uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Paxton was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lewis and Teresa Jones and Clifford and Mae Moreland.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at St. John Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (the family will receive friends between 6 and 7 p.m.) Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.

A memorial has been established at the Moreland Children Education Fund. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
